From what I know, the last handful of chapters by Miura were about hope after years of suffering. Now that his friend has taken over, it feels like "Those things about hope? That was absolute trash. We're going back to the good stuff, the Pain and Suffering of Guts and Casca, where being a good guy is suffering and Evil Bastards are the best."
I know Berserk was never a happy manga in the first place, but now it feels like the guy just wants it to become Misery Porn again
... actually, I'm going to predict how the ending goes: The way Griffith gets FINALLY defeated is after Guts uses the power of the Berserker Armor, Casca sacrifices herself and the Moon Child in front of Guts, somehow killing the Bg Tree and Griffith, but Guts is left all alone, because he's a Struggler. Probably goes the route of the Skeleton Knight or something.
And here I was tempted to try Berserk again, but nope.

The last few chapters Miura penned himself seemed hopeful because it was the calm before the storm. We knew this wasn't gonna last because the manga couldn't end before a final showdown between Guts and Griffith, and naturally that confrontation would pack a track lot of suffering and misery. The fact that Miura passed away before reaching that point in the story doesn't mean he wasn't gonna go there.
If anything, the latest chapters answered a question a lot of people had: what would make Guts go back to fight Griffith even though he seemed ready to give up his grudge on him? Now we know the reason. Guts will go back because Griffith took Casca. Makes total sense. So much so that I don't understand why I didn't see it coming.
