Ninomiya Shungo (二ノ宮峻護) is the protagonist of this light novel.
This is "thanks for the meal":
ご馳走様でした = Gochisosama Deshita = Thanks for the meal
Which is not Goshuushou-sama (ご愁傷さま)
Goshuushou-sama desu (ご愁傷さまです)
means: I am very sorry/My condolences.
So it might be: My condolences Ninomiya-kun
