Okayyyyy.....this feels a little OOC, to me... but whatever. I'll just post what I can. Sorry, no pics this time...but I'm tempted to draw the Tiara/Saga scene so if worse comes to worst, I can always request good' ol FlameSparkZ for something.
Anyway, Part 10 here. CHEESE and OOC-ness aboard the train.
Spoiler for Part 10 : Embrace:
~Part X : ~ Before the Moonlight ~
~Tiara~
The moon…the moonlight peers its way, reflecting herself through the curtains, eyeing everything there is, a witness to all under the skies of Belka.
Tonight…later tonight, it’s that time again… Our meetings haven’t been as frequent as before lately, considering the high tensions of the current situation…
There is something I need to tell him.
“I’m here, Princess.”
Ah. So she’s arrived. Well…before I deal with my personal problems, I’ve got my responsibilities to hold… It’s not something I can divide myself too.
“Come in, Signum.”
Signum stepped in, opening the doors as her head is lowered, only to slowly gesture back into eye-contact.
“Is there…anything you need me for, Princess?”
“Signum…out of the Wolkenritter, you lasted against Saladin the longest. What do you think of him?”
“…He’s a very capable knight. Strong, fast, and technically apt… an extremely skilled all-rounder, who’s smart and deductive in combat. What more…”
“…Signum?”
“Forgive me for saying this, but he gives out a feeling like the Princess. Something…overwhelming.”
“Can I win?”
“Princess!”
“Answer me…Signum.”
“… Yes…but it will not be easy, and with your physical condition, it’s extremely dangerous to fight a prolonged battle.”
“Signum… my mother once told me…that regardless of how powerful one person can be…one is only human. And being human means that the heart and the mind…are always vulnerable…”
“The human…heart?”
Signum seemed perplexed…but I don’t blame her…Even I do not know the complete extent of my newly developed status-affection… the experimentation of the Mandrake plant’s effects converted into magical equations…
“Yes…the human heart and mind is strong just as it is weak.”
“I don’t understand.”
“You will when the time comes.”
I smiled to Signum, as I motioned her leave of this room...
All right…it’s about time now. I hope I didn’t make Saga wait…
Saga…
I never knew…falling in love could be so…joyous.
~ Signum~
That was…strange…
“Wha? You done with the Princess, Signum?”
As I walked out of the Princess’s chambers…Vita was there, leaning by the walls… her face scowled, noticeably irritable, and in a bad mood… the loss to Saladin must’ve chocked her up quite a bit.
“Still upset over our loss?”
“Upset!? More like extremely pissed off!”
I sighed… Vita is strong, aggressive, yet generally in control…but there are times where it shows that she’s still somewhat a child.
“Vita… have you noticed anything…different about the Princess recently?”
“Hmm? How so?”
“I’m not sure…but the atmosphere around the Princess seems to have…lightened up more… and the Princess seems more…vibrant as well.”
“Well, not as far as I know. Maybe you’re just being paranoid.”
“I hope you’re right…”
Princess…
~Shamal~
…
……
……….
I couldn’t shake off my worries. As expected, it is bothering me after all…
That hair…that back…it’s too similar.
If it is really is Saga…
If Saladin…our sworn, most dangerous enemy is….Saga…
If he is…what should I do? Kill him? Tell the Princess?
Losing myself, immersed in deep thought, I felt something nudging my leg, only to see Zafira.
“What’s wrong, Shamal?”
“It’s noth-“
Wait… unlike Signum or Vita, Zafira’s seen Saga before…and he did fight Saladin…
“Zafira…can I ask you something?”
“Go ahead.”
“When you fought Saladin…what did he look like? Does he resemble anyone in particular?”
“It’s better to ask Signum or Vita about that. I was knocked out early and caught only a slight glimpse through his cracked mask.”
“That’s good enough…It’s something I can’t ask Signum or Vita…please.”
“… His eyes..were black, profoundly deep… Yes…it did feel familiar, but it’s not like black eyes are rare.”
“Thank you, Zafira.”
Black eyes…black hair…I can’t shake Saga’s image off…
There’s no proof yet…but at the very least…I must ask the Princess to stop meeting him.
As I rushed to her highness’s chambers…she was nowhere to be seen.
This late at night…there’s only one other place she’d go…
Please…be safe.
Princess….
~Tiara~
“Saga.”
“Tiara.”
As always…our usual greeting. Even after our profession of love that night…nothing much has changed between us.
There’s something different about our atmosphere, like the blowing wind in a field of flowers... We’re both aware of ourselves now…but aside from that, there’s not much difference. We still converse normally like friends, we’re still hiding ourselves…
Only that night…was we truly open to one another…
….
*blushes*
“Is anything wrong, Tiara? Your face is red.”
“...No….I’m…fine.”
“Okay…”
Gosh. Now that I think about it, it was really embarrassing…My first time…out in the open air like this. Granted, the atmosphere was… it’s so hard to think straight. If Shamal ever finds out about this, I’ll never hear the end of it…
Not to mention Saga would probably die…
I threw away the mental speculations, as I moved over by Saga’s side, and sat next to him, closely.
We never spoke…we just looked up to the sky, gazing at the stars…the moon…
It may seem meaningless to some…but I know that to me…it was happiness. Something truly irreplaceable…to be with the man I love....
“This reminds me of when we first met, Tiara.”
Our first meeting…our beginning…
“I was there…at my parent’s grave, as your voice reached out to me…just the both of us…I’ll never forget that day…ever.”
“Me too…Saga.”
The both of us then lied down flat, our entire being…shined under the sky, just as our eyes see all there is that the sky offer before us, amidst the bright sky of the night, with stars far far away as our witnesses.
“If only moments like this were eternal…”
Saga’s words… That’s right. We’re happy now…but how long can we hide ourselves? How long can we keep up our façade? A part of me just wants to tell Saga everything, and bring him back to my castle…but I know… it’s impossible at a time like this…
“Saga…can you answer my questions?”
“Go ahead.”
“Do you love me?”
“Yes.”
“Do you want to be with me, together?”
“Of course.”
“You will keep your promise?”
“Naturally.”
After several times asking questions…some repetitive…some mildly stupid, and getting a nonchalant response... of Yes, Naturally, Of couse, etc…
You’re not even paying attention, are you, Saga?
“Saga…let’s get…married.”
“……”
“……”
Silence looms… Saga looked at my face intently, as he slowly chuckled, and drowned into a slight laughter.
“You didn’t think I’d actually fall for that, did you, Tiara?”
“I’d thought for sure, you’d just say “yes” just like my previous questions…You weren’t even listening to me properly.”
“No…I was listening.”
Saga’s face suddenly turned serious, as his child-like laughter turned into a solid, strong expression.
“Are you serious…Tiara?”
“…Yes.”
Saga was mildly silent… I suppose the timing is awkward…but… I touched my abdomen softly as I continued… worrisome and afraid…but I must go on.
“It’s …okay if you don’t want to…I’m okay with it… I can take care of the baby myself…”
“Tiara…you’re…”
Flushed, I looked away from Saga as I nodded slightly…
I was confused…afraid… I was afraid that Saga will reject me…
But my fears dissipated and disappeared instantly as Saga hugged me back, placing my head into his chest as I saw him smiling at me…warmly…
“Let’s get married…Tiara. I’ll always be with you…forever. I’ll never let you go.”
“Ah…”
The confidence, preparation…everything I bulked up fearing he’d reject me…he crumbled and destroyed it instantly, as I hugged him back, my tears rolling out from my eyes.
My wedding…it was not what I’d thought it’d be. Born as raised royalty…I have been taught the ethics of it… a royal marriage…under the crowns of the empire, to live and die as the Queen, under my people…
But here I am, years later…getting married to a man I hardly knew…there were no witnesses, just the moon and the stars above us. There were no tapestries, nor accessories, just the field of flowers…there was no one else…just us. Regardless… this is more beautiful than I could ever imagine…
The both of us spoke our vows… but we continued… we didn’t need to read anything…we both knew what we wanted to say.
“We promise…”
“Even after our death, we will love no one but each other.”
“We promise…”
“We will live for each other’s happiness.”
“I promise you, Tiara…”
“That so long as I live, I’ll live for the sake of your happiness.”
“I promise you, Saga…”
“Even after death…even if I forget everything…so long as I’m reborn in this world…I’ll definitely come, to love you again.”
We kissed… there was no rings…no pastors… but it was enough for us.
We are now apart of each other… we’ll never let go…
"I am the happiest woman in the whole wide world at this moment."
~ Shamal~
Why did…things had to turn out…like this?
The Princess…and Saga…
I flew back to the castle, swiftly before they noticed…
Is this your happiness…Princess?
Why? Why must fate be this cruel?
I actually hinted the Tiara-thing last chapter, but it looks like everyone missed it. :3
The next part will be a short interlude before we go on the the penultimate battle, and I've thrown another hint of what to be expected in this chapter too.
Edit : ~ Added a line for Tiara...at least I think that's the way to say it...Too lazy to rewatch A's.
