Spoiler for the pendant:

The pendant is cursed and will then require Isumi to seal it... While doing it Isumi confesses to Hayate that she likes him and this leads to a series of wacky events and misunderstanding by Wateru and Nagi..

For those who didn't read my spoiler, lets just say the pendant should sow the way for more Isumi goodness..
