That's what it was in Japanese as well. "pan" is Japanese for "bread". Nice little translation there - better than breaking the flow with a translation comment.
On another note: the St Ishiyama students refer to the normal Ishiyama bunch as "Ishiyaba" - with the "yaba" being short for "yabai" (colloquial for "bad", "awful" etc). So kinda like saying "Shittyama" instead of "Ishiyama".
