Of course it's to be remembered that PNG-8 is an 8 bit format meaning that the maximum color count is 256. In effect it's usually the same as saving the sig as GIF though it usually produces slightly larger files. Within the size limits JPG is unfortunately often the only option since PNG-24 tends to bump the filesize quite a bit.
