well, according to legend, Zashiki Warashi is a fortune bringer as well as calamity bringer. Appease her, and luck pour down on your household, angered her, and you pretty much doomed...financially..
Beside this Zashiki Warashi is older even than the protagonist Great Grandfather (she already have that dynamite body when the great grandfather still a kid)

Yuki Onna is deadly indeed, but since Shinobu alrady tamed her, I think she's more useful to him than Yukari the useless Zashiki Warashi.
The Yuki Onna can cool down your house temperature in the summer heat, create shaved ice to sell, and she's beautiful too (common trait of her kind). In the present of Danger, she's quite formidable opponent/guardian, as long as no fire source big enough to weaken her power (like volcano).
If you against huge number of enemy, she can summon a fucking huge Blizzard in her aid (heck! even in Ushio to Tora, a Yuki Onna drove away the thunder Bakemono, before she gave up her grudge)
