I had trouble getting into the manga, but I liked the first ep of the anime quite a bit. It seemed like quality work all 'round to me. The serious portrayal works for me, as do the character design, the script and the voices, and the simple yet rich overall look. And Misaki is great, in character design (moe but not too moe), character, and voice acting (
Makino Yui).
