@Feng Lengshun: I think the romance in the novels is handle quite well, it's not actually good but it's not bad either.
Not every relationships need to have some tragic, dark past or drama, you know. Most real life relationship just simply , well, normal and uneventful. You don't exactly expect your girlfriends or wives to have some tragic past or problem for you to solve when you are in a relationship.
At least that how most couples and marriages I know are like that.
