essentially just jumps off the page whether it's her kicking ass or her teary-eyed confusion at her predicament if she's like this this should be a lot of fun with a lot of good action and it shouldn't be easy to pigeonhole her into a category as she doesn't yet come off as any of the usual single archetypes and instead feels natural and lively (or define her solely by the main character since I'm not getting a love-at-first-sight-blush vibe nor a I-hate-you vibe at all, as was reassuringly also said earlier in the thread, which is a refreshing starting place), and the main guy was pretty good he's got some personality and didn't end up getting in the way during the fight trying to protect a girl who doesn't need protecting and just took it on himself to whack the cat that was going to butt in. I also like that they actually separated after their accidental meeting before meeting again in the dream world, felt much more natural even if falling on him was a little by-the-book, but still fresh with no blushing, awkwardness and actually no real lingering on it it was nice and breezy and over and out of the way, I hope the anime makes it just as nonchalant. Also liked how her purpose in showing up there in the dream world when they met again wasn't for the purpose of meeting or a destined-to-meet-feel or defending him or thanking him for something convenient, but instead was just info from the masked guy and her hat. Liked her love of her hat lol, especially when she put it on and took the cool prepared to fight pose as seen in the trailer (reminded me of Indiana Jones a bit too lol).

Spoiler for slight manga stuff:

Merry seems to be a light version of Shana with more stubbornness added. She doesn't stay teary-eyed for long. The household setup is from a harem title. (Guy living with another family who happens to have a girl his age. Friends are saying they should be a couple. Merry shows up and throws a kink in the waxworks so to speak.)To me, the setup is more reminiscent of Shana with a dash of Index. (Guy with mysterious power meets mysterious fighter girl and together they fight for <insert reason here>. Guy also has a strong sense of values and looks to be a chick magnet (from Index).

Not that it's anything wrong to be reminded of Shana and Index as those are very popular titles.

And really how can you guys call someone a tomboy who wears a skirt as short as that with a ripped top?
