Ah, the triumphant return of Demon-Eyes Hayate!
If Athena didn't open the doors, I think Machina would have gotten his ass handed to him. Now I can't wait to see what it is that Hayate and Athena talk about. I think that Athena noticed that Hayate reacted strongly when Machina tried to take the gem so she probably knows that asking for it would be a bad idea.
I also like Nagi's development there. I've been saying for some time that her part in the manga is basically to grow up and learn to be a responsible adult, and it's Hayate's job to help her get there. That's why I don't think there will ever be a romantic end between them, when you've basically raised somebody they always look like they used to no matter how far a time skip you have.
As for Hina, I hope that she figures out what it is she wants to do. I'm sure that talking to Ayumu would help you at least a little, but she definitely needs some time to think and clear her head. Can't wait to see how she copes with it in the next chapter!
