1 vote each for one chapter at a time and for all at once...
I think I'll post it 2 chapters at a time then. If the majority of the votes are for the rest all at once I'll do so, otherwise tomorrow I'll just post another two chapters.
Chapter 1 - Cohabitation
Spoiler for Chapter 1:
Opens with Usami in a ‘naked apron’ scene cooking Jirou breakfast, saying this is for treating Jirou’s gynophobia (see coloured pages). They talk about how in the past month Jirou and Kureha is living with Usami Jirou is seen like a newlywed husband to Usami. Usami saw Jirou has a rice grain near his mouth and took it from him, then ate it.
They talked about how last night they slept together because Kureha brought home a horror movie, and scared Usami to the point she went to Jirou for comfort. Nothing happened due to Jirou’s gynophobia.
All in all, it’s the very picture of a homey life that’s like paradise between Jirou and Usami…
… so obviously it’s all just a dream. Jirou was forcibly woken up by Usami via a kick to his stomach (still tamer than what Kureha normally uses on him though). He denied he had a good dream despite looking like he was enjoying it, and when asked Usami denied she was looking at Jirou’s sleeping face.
Jirou and Kureha had left Kanade’s place they were staying at (they were at Kanade’s place to begin with since their house was damaged by a neighbour’s fire) and now have been at Usami’s place for a month now. Jirou is forced to sleep outside on the veranda and with only a sleeping bag and a cardboard house – and he STILL says being called a ‘pet’ by Usami is better than what Kanade has put him through during his time as her servant living at her place. Usami says she can have peace of mind if Jirou’s sleeping out there, otherwise she’s afraid he might do something perverted to her. Jirou snarked back he has gynophobia, he can’t do anything like that.
Usami says he can go back to Kanade’s place if he want to. Jirou thinks that’s not a option, since Konoe’s over there. He doesn’t want to face her after he was rejected.
Kureha eats breakfast with them, and she’s now a lot more timid around Jirou; he asked to take on the most powerful combos Kureha had right after being rejected, and after shrugging them off like nothing (and asking for even more) Kureha was shocked to the point she doesn’t just go up and use wrestling moves on Jirou anymore. He remarks he’s used to Kureha’s attacks like that after all these years, now that she doesn’t do it anymore it feels weird.
Kureha then talks about the haunting at Usami’s place. Apparently the ghost tried to scare Kureha once when she tried to go toilet in the middle of the night, and Kureha in fright (and reflex) gave the ghost a German Suplex.
The ghost got back up and says thanks to Kureha she can now finally move on. Jirou snarked right then saying Kureha has to be joking. It turns out the haunting was just the ghost feel like playing a prank (and that she thinks it’s her duty to scare people as a ghost), and her life’s dream was to be thrown around like in pro wrestling (she was a wrestling fan…). Bottom line, Usami’s home is now no longer haunted, and Usami’s not possessed anymore (this is important later in this book).
It’s a Sunday, and Kureha went out for club activities (Usami decided to skip – it’s a beautiful day, too good to waste it on club). Usami and Jirou then tried out the next plan to cure his gynophobia (Usami also hinted she wants to cure his gynophobia so he won’t be averse to have her as his girlfriend, before hurriedly moving on from the topic).
Jirou noted how he hasn’t been talking much with Kanade and Konoe lately after the rejection. And it seemed like Kanade and Konoe’s relationship has gotten stiff as well recently for some reason.
Usami have been using Spartan methods thus far, to the point Jirou says the number of times he had a nosebleed here rivalled the number of stars. She decided this time to try something different, using the ‘carrot’ method rather than the ‘stick’. She warned him if it doesn’t work today they’re going straight back to Spartan methods (eg, hugging Jirou when Usami’s only in a swimsuit).
The method today is just holding hands… though Jirou for some reason felt it’s even more embarrassing than some of the things they tried before.
First stage complete, Jirou is now capable of holding hands with girls indefinitely without getting a nosebleed (he did come close once though). Now for the second stage:
Go shopping together, holding hands all the way. Usami is just as embarrassed as Jirou is as she stated her plan, since it’s practically like they’re going on a date.
Before they’re going however, the manager down stairs notified them their new neighbours moved in and they want to come and say hello. Old man Sasaki-san who lived next door moved away recently, and in a hurry for some reason.
The new neighbours show up, and it turns out to be Kanade and Konoe.
Chapter 2 – progression of neighbours
Spoiler for Chapter 2:
Kanade and Konoe moved next door (because Kanade felt this will be interesting). It took them a month to get this arranged between family issues and trying to get Sasaki-san to move out.
Kanade also says part of this is to see if Usami and Jirou have been doing H things together. Usami denies loudly she’d ever do that kind of things with Jirou. Kanade decides to check the house for evidence suggesting otherwise, and Usami caved to her ‘request’ since Konoe also agreed to the search.
Jirou pointed them to his ‘room’ on the veranda, and both Konoe and Kanade’s left speechless. Usami hastily said he’s just joking and took Kanade to search a spare room (note: Jirou had the look saying, I quote: “Oi, stop joking around you dark-hearted rabbit, I’ve been sleeping in that cardboard house for the past month haven’t I?” during Kanade’s questioning).
Usami decided to have Jirou sleep inside from now on, since if Kanade finds out he’s sleeping outside she might invite him to go stay with her. She’d be lonely that way. Jirou thought no matter what he won’t be going over to Kanade’s place next door anyway, because Konoe’s there. Even now, a month later, he still doesn’t know how to face Konoe after the rejection.
Jirou and Konoe’s left the room together. Konoe’s suspicious Jirou have done something to Usami, but Jirou says that’s impossible since Kureha’s also staying here, not to mention he’s not going out with Usami.
Jirou also said he’s just friends with Usami, even if she had helped a lot with trying to fix his gynophobia. Not that his time with Kanade and Konoe wasn’t helpful, he added.
Konoe went silent at Jirou’s words, and Jirou wonders if it has anything to do with how Konoe and Kanade not getting along well recently.
Konoe wants to see how much Jirou have improved, and went to embrace him. After a full minute Konoe asked in a tearful voice if they’re still best friends. Konoe said she was happy to be confessed to, “but…”
and Konoe still wants to be his best friend; so they can be together, even if they’re not lovers.
Jirou realised for the past month Konoe have been lonely, with the awkwardness between the two of them. He realised even after the rejection he still cares for Konoe, and he can’t let her go.
Before he can say anything however, Usami and Kanade finished checking and came back in to see them closely embraced. Usami thinks they really are a BL couple, which Jirou hastily replies they’re only like this because Konoe was feeling dizzy.
Kanade told Konoe to check Usami’s room, since all the S&M gear is probably hidden in there. Usami was provoked to dragging Konoe into her room, which now allowed Kanade to talk to Jirou privately.
Kanade already saw through Jirou have been sleeping outside, but decided to not pursue this line of thought and moved onto other things:
Like what has happened between Jirou and Konoe that led to the awkwardness between them. Jirou asked Kanade why is she asking him when she can just ask Konoe. Kanade bit her lips and said weakly that Konoe refused her command, and didn’t say anything to her ojou-sama. It’s the first time Konoe ever refused a command by Kanade.
Kanade’s shaken up that her loyal butler have refused her commands, and now she lacks her usual confidence. She asks Jirou to tell her what happened, but Jirou also says he can’t say anything to her. He felt like if he says it out loud it meant he’ll accept what has happened.
For a instant, Kanade looked hurt that even Jirou is keeping things from her. Normally she’d pursue until he tells her, but this time she just step away. She told Jirou part of the reason she moved next door is to get to the bottom of this, and he should prepare himself. Today’s just the ‘declaration of war’.
As Kanade left, she told him this is one thing she can’t give up on, since this is for Konoe. She had a look of tragic resolve on her face as she turned and left through the door.
