Yeah, I guess "step-dad" is an inaccurate title relating to Rin ... "uncle" seems more appro (whatever his feelings toward Rin's mother).

@gamma: its taken me a year and a half of sporadic studying to achieve my current "lame" level. I read with all my dictionaries within reach. Sometimes I'll get stuck for an hour on some badly printed kanji. Someone with more time could probably have done it in six months.
