I don't know, feels like GUP is casting a wide net rather than specfiically targeting rivalries.
The "contract" proposition is rather clearly of a temporary nature, a mercenary deal which the T10 player will then, unless they really like their new teammates, return to their original clans, business complete, gold earned, no hard feelings.
Of course, Touma will have to commit for some intensive training if he accepts and given how often he says he wants to quit or play the game less...
