No kidding. One theory I heard (in RPG.net's discussion) is that maybe it's the Endless Witch's power that makes its user cruel? As soon as she handed it off, Beato completely dropped the whole "KNEEL BEFORE ZOD" schtick that had pretty much been her defining character trait, while Eva-Beatrice went from zero to psycho pretty quickly.

It's more like Beato has always had a childish personality, but until recently DEEN has just been cutting out every single one of those moments, that and making her into a bigger bitch then she actually was in the novel. I'm not sure why they tried to do that, only to turn around and quickly try and re-insert her childish moments (other then they just realized they had to.)
