I can see unpopular pairing vs. unpopular pairing having some value when it comes to sheer unpredictability, so having a couple like that might be fine. But given the general newness (as far as I'm aware anyway) of these tag-team matches, what I'd most like to see is popular pairing vs. popular pairing.
Haruhi & Kyon vs. Hitagi & Araragi
Shana & Yuji vs. Taiga & Ryuji
Kanade & Otonashi vs. Kuroneko & Kyousuke
Nanoha & Fate vs. Madoka & Homura
Nodoka & Saki vs. Kyouko & Sayaka
C.C. & Lelouch vs. Inori & Shu
I'm sure I'm not the only one who would love to see matches like these, simply because they look great "on paper" (i.e. they're conceptually appealing, kind of like Yui vs. Ui: Sister vs. Sister), whatever the actual vote results would be.
