The main problem with BETA is their laser class units. They can launch a light speed unstoppable attack which has an incredible long range. That and their sheer numbers is what really fucks humanity. But without laser it would be so much simplier.
Still if I were in that situation I'd wonder what would be the point in fighting so hard to stop their advance on earth when they could always send more hives from space.
Then again I guess there's actually people in that universe that realized the futility of hoping to save the planet.
