The Rotten Fruit
The third episode has been one of the most confrontational and tense I've watched as season 3 has progressed far.
If you want my opinion, there was no validity or excuse for Masako untying the string and send Jun to hell.
Spoiler:
At first, I believed it was a farfetch'd tale that Masako concocted to Yuzuki about how Jun had bullied the former way back in middle school. I mean the manner how Jun was portrayed in the flashbacks with Masako seemed exaggerated.
But, I setted it down as true when Jun, indeed, confessed her bullying ways to Masako.
While it's true that nobody has a change of heart out of the blue, Jun's appreciation towards her fans and singing career were what made her to realize the wrongfulness of her behavior and attitude. Hence, she worked hard to change herself from within.
The problem with people like Masako is that vengeance behaves so passionately in the heart, that even the flame still remains freshly lit since its inception when the victim begrudges her tormentor.
Simply put, Masako could never shook off the past and those bitter memories, and what's more serious is that she used Jun's past bullying as an excuse to blame the idol for her inability to sing well.
Honestly, Masako plainly sucked at singing and had no talent from the start; Jun straightforwardly told that to her, but still she wished making peace amends with Masako by dedicating a song to the former at the concert.
Things went with a short fuse when Masako's manager stepped in and bribed Masako with money to hand over the scandalous pictures and to let go off Jun.
