If we could invent a system to do that for us, we wouldnt need translators anymore...LOL
I agree that scrolling through the possible kanji on a dictionary/ word processor is the only way to go. Thats how most Japanese find kanji that they cant write.
Also "youko" in this case is a name but also points to a magical/ monster fox, so unless you knew that, it would have been hard to identify the kanji characters even if you had the list of kanji in front of you.
