Well, imo the only real homosexual is Maria, who seems to have unrequited feelings for Saki. Everyone else, including Saki, seems to be playing at being homosexual (unconsciously, of course). All those "couples" seem so fake it's not even funny.
I suppose their society encourages homosexual behavior as breeding control.
