Also, OT but: Saki wished she would be male so she would be allowed to date Shun because she was convinced (rightly so as it turned out) that Shun would've dated her if it was possible. She was pretty much "eeww" when she saw two other guys playing with each other's little pets so she wasn't exactly into that. In the part you mention, at that point she's not talking about wanting to be a guy, she's like "I didn't know if I wanted to fondle Shun like that, or wanted Satoru to fondle me." (or something along those lines, I'm going by memory.) She just felt left out.

I think that he really did felt something for Satoru. I would even say that he loved him.
After all, why would he even date him? He didn't have to. He could have rejected Satoru and wait for Saki. He also seemed really happy with Satoru.

Even if he loved Saki's more he probably wouldn't have picked her as a pair later as to not hurt Satoru's feelings. So I think he could have ended up with Satoru.
