If you've ever seen a
George Burns comedy routine (or other comedy greats of his era), you'd recognize the humor style immediately - especially with the food sketch bits. It's simply not seen too often any more in the attention-span challenged nownownow one-liner comedy of the West. Pay attention to the music scoring - its very effective in conveying the timing/pacing. That director (since being sacked) has gone on to do some very interesting work in more recent series.
