Truly, Yuri certainly deserved to see her whole squad brutally killed (with some satisfaction from Naoi as it can be seen), herself being beaten to death, then being mind raped, because of a lost meal ticket that was wasted by accident and some public humiliation /sarcasm.
Overexaggeration much, but I think intent and circumstances are the key here.
By the way, while Kanade was certainly portrayed as "sad" after losing the ticket, one thing to remember is that... the "very sad" mood was set by Otonashi's narration (it obviously bears a good chunk of truth, but to conclude that Kanade went 100% depressed is quite a big conjuncture).
More seriously, that aftermath was obviously not what Yuri or kanade expected, not wanted. That being said, it was a result that SSS should have seen coming with their armed interventions, but totally unrelated to what happened in Episode 5 anyway.
I just hope there will be less "character goggled"/personal type of comment, because it is rather meaningless to point "fault" to a certain character or side, when the whole mess is basically no one's fault so to speak.
Ironically, I think the reponse to this would have been the reversed way if it was first the onslaught, then Kanade losing her ticket. *shrugs*

Well the problem with Kanade is her emotions are not seen really well due to the fact that she is as mysterious as she is portrayed to be. That's good but in a way it keeps our hunger to analyze her more than other characters personally I find it a good thing since it keeps my interest up in her. As for Yuri I agree with you since her side of over exaggeration on Tenshi in the bullying was over the top and hopefully she will be grateful to her by the next episode. Ideally I hope she evolves in understanding Tenshi more as a human.
