san = General respect (eg Mr, Miss, etc)
sama = high form of respect (eg the speakers master)
chan/kun = respect for someone of your general stature, who you feel close to in some way (it's very hard to explain).
sensei = teacher
senpai = someone of higher social stature (eg someone in the school year above you).
Don't quote me on those though.
