And of course they would recognize it would be perfect. But once you taste a perfect reality, take a bite of forbidden fruit... Would you really want to go back?
I don't know about Irish case though... If he had the perfect life given to him, would he really turn it away?
Eventually, the protagonists do, but the decision to leave will be terribly hard to make.
