Kinda ironic how last episode I (and others) were going, "hmm, maybe Grace did something to ensure Sheryl was ill" and now she like "Die Sheryl die, muahaha" and come out as an evil ninja android or something...
I suspect that Leon wants a nice little rallying cry to unite people under his control - "sob, sob, they killed Sheryl... now shut up and do what I say". I guess this explains why Grace didn't seem annoyed for Ranka to turn up and save the day (I was kinda curious about that and kinda miss-directed me into thinking she was nicer than she looked), since it ultimately wasn't going to make much difference. I wonder if part of the plan was to destroy some evidence about the research fleet as well (kill two birds with one stone)...?
