First off: we found the "d" ("dream"), and I was wrong. It was in episode 12, not in a 13th to come.
Spoiler for Episode 12:
What a finale! At first I thought it was a bit convenient for him to be able to collect all of the papers that flew about, but then, the way it played out made up for it. She couldn't forget -- and not because she somehow magically reversed her condition or something, but because she'd have to somehow wipe her mind clean for 13-straight hours, and Renji is all she's been able to think about. "13 hours is a long time, isn't it?" What a line... The music in this episode was, again, exceptional.
The "dream" epilogue basically wrapped everything up nicely. The all-call "all the characters say their closing lines to tie things together" scene reminded me so much of a theatrical play it's not even funny. I think that's the first time I've seen anything like that in anime. Stick around 'till the very end, after the credits, for an important scene.
By the way, also note the very small, but very symbolic, change in the OP.
