A little about Alex

Alexander or Alex to his friends is a registered Neo-Belka mage; He was trained by Hayate in the theory of Old Belka magic, so that he could have a better understanding of Azura and Setsuna, which are Old-Belka technology. He does not however possess that ability to use Old Belka magic. He was tested and it found that while he did posses a linker core that is somehow compatible with Azura and Setsuna it is not compatible with other Old Belka devices. It was also found that he is not able to use the Old Belka magic but he has become quiet adapt at Neo Belkan magic and the use of his change device Ryu.
Alex is kind person who is very active, during the time when he is alone, which is not very often due to having quiet regular assignments, he can usually be found doing one of two things, the first one being training, and the second one is begging Yunno to let he go into the Infinity Library so him and his “children” can read what ever books they like. It seams that they all have inherited Brontë’s love of books. Yunno has become hesitant to let him into the Library now days though, due to the fact that one time he tried to take advantage of the zero-gravity system for some combat training.
Another thing Alex likes to do in his down time is spend some time with the new recruits that have recently graduated from the academy and have been assigned there first unite positions. But seeing as he is not an instructor he has to receive permission from the recruit’s regular instructors ahead of time, but this is seldom a problem. While he is spending time with the recruits they are known to do anything form combat and defense training, to battle scenario analysis, to just hanging out and talking. Normally the instructors do not know about the last one. Alex had often be heard to comment that he wished that he was an instructor, and as such on several occasions he was offered the position but his response was always the same, “Thank you but, no. I am needed where I am and if I did become an instructor I would probably grow attached to my students, and I would never want to see them go on to different unites.”
But there is another side to Alex’s life, he is married. In the year (X) Alex got married to Cassandra Alexa Ivanov. It has been noted by both Alex’s superiors and subordinates that during a time of rest such as a meal, he can be found staring out into space. It is assumed and widely accepted that he is thinking about his wife Cassandra. Even though they are both Officers in the Airborne Combat division they are stationed in completely different locations. Due to that fact that they seldom get much time to spend with each other. Alex has become is quite well known to cancel a training session or four with his squad when he hears that Cass is heading home. At first the members of the 8th Tactical Strike Squad, gave Alex a hard time about getting married and then again about him canceling training sessions. But now days he has their full support, in fact they will often become concerned about Alex if he doesn’t clear at least one entire day to spend with Cass when she returns home.

Passive spells

Angelic Flight: Speed increasing spell for flight and enhanced movement. Forms Angel wings on casters back.

Eyes of the Angel: A sight boosting spell that allows the caster eyesight to be improved drastically, not only is the range of the casters vision increased but the focus and sharpness of the eyes as well. (WIP)

Transformation: Standard transformation magic to conceal ones identity. Can be used to change everything from the casters; voice, physical appearance, even down to their scent, if the caster is good enough. Which Alex is not.

Focusing lens: This Spell creates a literal magical focusing lens that can be placed in the path of a spell to focuses the spell done to a narrower attack field for increased damage, or it can be reversed to take a pin-point attack and spread it out in to more of a bombardment attack for wider area coverage but less damage.

Transportation: A basic though high level magic spell. That can transport a person from one location to another, within a short distance. It is usually required that the caster can see or has been to the destination before.

Attack Spells

Avalon gust: A spell not so much designed to cause damage to a target but to force them to move back or call off their pursuit. Avalon Gust summons near hurricane force winds to be sent from a magic circle created just in front of the caster palm. (WIP)

Crosse Fire (AKA Lotus Blast): (ep8) calls upon 8 Attack spheres to form in front of casters hand then sends them out in a circular pattern forming a near solid beam. I showed it to Nanoha and she quickly adapted it to her fighting style. Though she only uses 6 spheres.

Scatter shot: Forms a single sphere that is then shot at a target. About 3 ft before it strikes the target (or when ever the caster desires) the sphere will split into smaller spheres most of which shoot out and circle around the target to attack from behind, while one slightly larger sphere continues on its original path. This attack has multiple classes. Both of which require a high amount of control. Note, once separated the spheres can engage multiple targets not just one.
• Class 1. This is the most commonly used class. Very short cast time around 2 seconds, upon splitting it will form ten smaller spheres.
• Class 2. This class has a slightly longer cast time about 10 seconds but makes up for it in power since this mode is like firing 3 of the class one’s. The sphere is around 3 times larger that the class one and breaks into thirty spheres, five of which will continue on their original path.

Bind/Capture Spells

Struggle Bind: A useful spell that can be used to capture multiple enemies at one time in a bind, also any transformation magic is forcefully dispelled.

Frozen Cage: A capture and holding spell that creates a diamond shaped prison of ice. This cage of ice is designed to repel any magical attack made by those that are inside, the crystal configuration of the ice will repel a magic attack made back at the caster.

Defensive Spells

Dragon's Scale: A Defensive magic that can be cast both around the caster or a target. It combines a high level Barrier, Shield, and an area type defense field. Due to the 3 different defenses magic’s used in a layered pattern this spell effective against both Long range and close combat attacks. But the caster must remain stationary while using it.

Crystal Barrier: Forms a strong anti-energy barrier. Specializes in defense against energy based weapons and pure magic attacks. This barrier can also take to form of a wall, in order to say block a passage way.

Alexander’s Story (a work in progress)


When Alexander was 9 years old he was playing in his basement with his friend Rin. While they where down there they discovered something that most children only dream of finding, a trap door in the floor near the south west corner of the room, beneath a pile of rubble from the collapsed wall. Which they where not supposed to be anywhere near for fear of getting hurt. But that did not stop them. While they were playing down there Rin knocked over a pile of boxes that caused the rubble in the corner to shift revealing the corner of a trapdoor. Once they had noticed the trapdoor there was not a force alive that could stop them from getting to it. After a few days of working on it they had moved the rubble enough to get to the door, Rin was scared to so down so Alexander went in first. There were only 3 things down there; two of them where books and the third was a nearly empty box of what appeared to be bullets. Alexander carefully brought the items out into the light and right after he left the secret room it collapsed from all sides. Startled by this Rin nearly screamed but Alexander put his hand over her mouth.
Over the next month Alexander went about reading the books and telling Rin about what they said. He said the first book was on something called magic and it told about some of its uses. From the second book appeared older (or at leased more used) and it talked about something called a “cartridge” and explained that a “cartridge” was used to make a mage stronger for a short period of time and that during that time they could do extraordinary thing. Finally they decided that he had to try this “magic” thing and decided to do something he thought would be easy, he decided to try and freeze some water. So him and Rin went and got a bowl of water and went down to the basement. They set the bowl in the middle of a clearing that they made on the floor and Alexander reread the book a bit just to make sure he had the process right. Then he counted “3, 2, 1 0” He then shuts his eyes and says the spell, concentrating with all his heart on the words. It worked... when he opened his eyes the water was completely frozen. “IT WORKED” they both screamed, jumping up and down. In the excitement Rin said “imagine it if we had one of those cartridge things.” “Tomorrow let make one then” Alexander said. And so it was decided the next day (Saturday) they would meet up in Alexander’s room and make a cartridge.
So when Saturday rolled around they met up in Alexander’s room and prepared to make a cartridge. So when the time to try came Alexander stood in the middle of the room holding one of the “bullets”, which they had learned was the casing for a cartridge, form the box they had found. Rin stood about 4 feet in front of him, and then he began to mutter a line that he read in the book. All of a sudden the “cartridge began to glow blue, Rin clapped with excitement at the glowing cartridge. Then all of a sudden the cartridge began to shake violently. Startled by this he opened his eyes half scared to death of the “thing” he was holding. Panicking in fear he threw the cartridge in the air, as it floated down directly in front of Rin, a look of terror was on Alexander’s face, because as it passed by her on its way down he noticed that I crack had shot down the side of it and was glowing red inside. Then wile he was staring at it, it exploded. Alexander was sent flying back and hit the wall, and was knocked unconscious.
When the paramedics arrived they carried off an unconscious Alexander but not Rin. When Alexander woke up the next day in the hospital not knowing what had happened. Then as he lied there he remembered what happened. RIN!!” he screamed. At the sound of this the nurses come rushing in only to find him frantically trying to get out of the bed. Fortunately he was strapped down. The nurses run in and attempted to calm him. “Where’s Rin where is she!?!?” The nurses look at each other worried and then the head nurse kneels down next to the bed. “I’m sorry, she… she’s dead.”



The accident which cost Rin her life was officially explained as an explosion in the houses gas heating. After waking up and being told what had happened Alexander was distraught, he was terrified of this power that lied within him that had taken the life of his friend. He fell in to such a deep depression that the doctors in the hospital refused to release him because it had severally affected his health. The only person who he would even allow to stay in his room with him was his Grandmother Cagalli. She would simply sit on his bed and rub his back to keep him clam. He never said a word after he was told that Rin had died. One day the silence of the room was finally broken by <MC’s> long absent voice. With out moving what so ever, as he lied there staring out the window, he quietly asked his grandmother “What should I do?” Shocked and slightly taken back by the voice that she had not heard in so long, it took her a minute to respond. “What do you mean?” she said. There was a long silence, “It’s my fault... It’s my fault that Rin is dead.” “IT’S MY FAULT!” he screams as he rolls over and begins to cry on his grandmother’s lap. Shocked by what her grandson is saying she waited for a minute and then asked what he meant. After a few minutes he sat up a bit and asked her to lock the door, quietly she got up and locked it. Then she walked back to his bead and sat back down. He then went about trying to explaining everything that had happened; the secret room, the books they found, the cartridges, what the books said, what he learned, and then what he did that really caused the explosion that killed Rin.
After telling her everything he collapsed and began to cry his eyes out. She quickly got up and unlocked the door incase a nurse walked by and hearing him crying wanted to check on him. But no one came in. As he lied there sleeping after exhausting himself with tears, Cagalli his grandmother took off her pendant and gently wrapped it around his neck and kisses him on the forehead as she said “sleep well” and leaves the room. The pendant consisted of what appeared to be a silver chain and in the middle A small shield roughly 3 inches tall and 1.5 inches wide with two crystal’s one on each side of the center.
When Alexander woke up it was still very early in the morning, he knew this because the sun was still far from rising. He sat up and realized that he felt strangely better, and then he noticed the pendant. “Huu, why do I have grandmother’s pendant??” he wondered. Without a second though he got out of bead and walked outside into the hall. There his father, mother, and grandmother had fallen asleep in their chairs. He quietly walked over to his grandmother Cagalli and tugged on her arm. She instantly woke up with a startled jump. Looking around she noticed what had woken her “Alexander.” she said softly” as she smiled and hugged him. “My prayers where answered.” Confused by this he asked “Prayer?? What prayer?” “I prayed that guardians of that pendant would heal you while you slept.” “Guardians of the pendant??” he replied slightly confused. “Yes. After I found that pendant years ago I had a dream of a guardian coming out of the pendant. Ever since then when ever I have worn it I have felt as if I was being protected.” Amazed by what he is hearing Alexander lifts up the shield of the pendant so that he can take a better look at it. As he did Cagalli told him that it was his to keep from then on. As she said that he noticed the pendant began to glow. Quickly he covered it with his hands and thanked his grandmother for the gift then said “I am really tired so I’m going to go back to bed now” “Ok. Sleep well” Cagalli said as she smiled. Not sure if she was dreaming or if he had really been standing there in front of her.
Alexander quickly ran back into the room and shut the door. Then he lifted the pendant and stared at it as it began to glow brighter and brighter. Then remembering what had happened with the cartridge he began to panic and started to take off the pendant.

Then all of a sudden he heard a voice say “Who are you?” shocked by this he fell onto the floor next to his bead unable to answer. Then he heard a second voice “Are you our Meister?” Still unable to answer due to the shock, he then realized it was the pendant talking and that it had two voices. “M..M... Meister.?” “I must be dreaming” he thought as he held the pendant in his hand. Then a voice that sounded like that of a machine came form the pendant “Compatibility confirmed! Identity of new Meister confirmed as Alexander. Waiting on contract confirmation, Contract confirmed under emergency protocol LD386” At this the crystals on the shield began to glow brightly, and then all of a sudden two lights emerged from the crystals on the pendant one of them blue and the other white. As he watched these mysterious lights began to emerge from the pendant he started to feel a pain in his chest, this small pain quickly grew to the point that it caused Alexander to fall unconscious.
Later he awoke in his room feeling very week and tired only to hear the sounds of people frantically running around the room talking and some of them crying. Alexander slowly sat up and started looked around to try and find out what everyone was so upset about. As he did he noticed what appeared to be a wall of blue light surrounding him. “Huu, what going on here.” He quietly said. As he said this he looked down and on his lap where two small girls with their hand extended to either side of him and a very serious look on both of there faces. “What the!” he exclaimed as he stared at these two very small people on his lap. “ALEXANDER” He herd his mother scream. “Mother? What’s going on here? And what’s with this wall of light!?!” Before she could answer everyone heard two small voices say “It’s a barrier Meister. We put it up to protect you from these people.” The whole room fell silent at the sound of those words. The silence was finally broken by Alexander’s response “Barrier? Meister? What are you talking about and… what ARE you?” The two looked at each other and then back at Alexander Then one of them spoke “Well it might be hard to explain if you don’t already know…” Then the other said “Could you do us a favor and repeat after me? Gesegneten Wächters des Himmels und des Schnees. Azura, Setsuna AUFGESTELLT” And so Alexander did as they said not even knowing why he was. As soon as he finished the phrase the two Said with excitement “Ja Meister” and at that the Blue light vanished. But before they anyone could move or say anything a white light engulfed Alexander and the two small people. After a few moments passed the light vanished and the two where gone, but something else had happened his hair had turned a dark blue and his eyes where bright silver. He didn’t move at all he just stood there next to the bed. While on the outside he looked as if he was a statue in his mind there was a very elaborate conversation going on. The two small girls had literally united with Alexander and they began to explain first of all what had just happened, who and what they where, about magic, and about what they felt they should do. They talked for what seamed like an hour but to those on the outside it was but a few minutes.
Then Alexander moved and he began to tell those in the room what had happened to him, and everything else that the girls had told him. Then he did something very unexpected. He walked over to his mother, who was still in a state of shock, and said the last thing she wanted to hear “I have to leave now Mother, not only for my safety but your as well.” Panicked she began to cry and ask him what he meant. He began to explain that if he stayed that the local government would come looking for him because there had already been reports made due to the barrier being erected. And that he feared that they would try to capture him. Still not understanding what was being said she asked him “Where will you go?” “Somewhere safe, don’t worry.” He answered. And at that he stepped back. “NO WAITE!” she screamed and began to run towards him but as soon as she did a strange symbol appeared around his feet and seeing this the doctors in fear grabbed her and held her back. He spoke no words but a voice from inside him said, “Emergency Dimensional Transfer, Destination Recall!” And at that he was gone.

His eyes where once a light green but ever since that day they have been a brilliant never changing Silver.

Device Modes

1. Blitz mode [sword form] (The devices primary form intended use is close range combat but is more often used for magical attacks)
a. In Blitz mode the device takes on the form of a Long sword that is capable of being wielded with one or two hands with the blue sphere located just above the handle in the hit of the sword. In this mode the device houses 3 cartridges. In this mode Ryu uses a cartridge system where the handle of the sword extends back revealing the cartridges and then returns to the locked position to uses them.
2. [Staff form] (intended for universal magic use, but is often used only for long range magic) A battle staff tipped at the end with a Blue crystal at the top. Using a cartridge load system the tip of the staff slides forward to reveal the cartridges and slams back to activate them. (similar to that of Vita’s) This mode also houses 3 cartridges.
3. Clyuno mode [gauntlet form] This mode is seldom used and is partially probated by the TSAB because it focus all of Ryu’s energy and power off of fighting and on communication, this being said in this mode Ryu has the ability to hack nearly any computer system even the TSAB mainframe.








Alexander story continued: Ryu

After the activation of the Unison program and the conformation of the contract. The device (Brontë) the original pendant, “died”. Brontë had been supporting the Unison program with his own magical energy for such a long time and without a master to draw energy from his magical energy supply, had begun to reach critical levels. He made this choice in order to insure that the twins could survive undamaged until a new master had been found. Upon finding Alexander and realizing that his own energy level was beyond critical, Brontë used the last of his energy to form and complete a contract with their new master and to transfer the twins to his care, this last act of selflessness caused him to completely run out of energy. Which caused a massive system failure and resulting in the near total destruction of him and all of his systems.
The only thing that survived the system crash was a log file that Brontë had kept. This log told of the long history of himself and the twins and their previous master: where they had been, what they had seen, what they had done, the planets they visited, and most “valuable” of all was a record of various records of dimensional quadrants, locations of so called “libraries” that where scattered across time and space, and also lists of different spells and magic’s of the old-belkan mages. This record was kept by command of Brontë original master Christopher as an attempt to preserve history and to remind him why he became a mage, “To help those that cannot help them selves”. This log had originally been password locked but before his death Brontë released the password in order to keep with his understanding of the original purpose of the log, to preserve history.
Brontë had made one last log entry before his passing it read like this: Date: Unknown, It has finally come to pass, after all these years searching and waiting for a new Meister I have found one. He is young and I am not certain of his magical potential but he does seam to have sufficient power to support the twins. I will miss them greatly. Meister Christopher last wish was for me to protect them until a new Meister with a good heart could be found; I feel that his wish has been fulfilled today.

The contract is complete he IS our Meister now.

Meister has now taken on the support of the twins, though I fear for his safety, once the release & reactivation program began I sensed an enormous strain on Meister and he lost consciousness as a result. For this reason I will not connect myself to the Meister for the drain on him I feel would be fatal. This will be my last entry in to this log. Azura, Setsuna, Please Guard and care of the Meister in my placccceeeeee....... (Playback imposable beyond this point. File to corrupt to be recovered.)

This log became something treasured to Alexander. He would often have one of the Twins read it to him, in order to remind him of why he made his decision to follow the mages path and of the great legacy that was granted to him by Brontë.

A few years later: Age 14

Upon joining the TSAB Alexander was asked by his instructor, Raven what device he intended to use. He was not sure how to answer. He had never actually used a “normal” device due to Brontë death and coming form a world where magic was un-heard of there was no way to even build a new device (not that he would want to). The instructor then noticed the pendant around his neck and commented “Ah, I see you all ready have one”. Looking at the Instructor with tears in his eyes he responded “No Sir. This device no longer functions.” Taken back by this he asked Alexander what he meant. Holding Brontë’s pendant in his hand Alexander explains a bit of what happened to Brontë. Upon hearing this instructor Raven ordered Alexander to report to the mechanics at the main office where they were stationed.
Upon arriving at the mechanics station ex explains why he was there to Sara the head mechanic on duty at the time. Sara began to ask him why he never built a device himself to replace Brontë. He tells Sara just how much Brontë had meant to him even tough they had never really met. By this point Sara was not sure how to respond. Knowing that he needed a device for training due to regulations, but seeing how he did not want a new device because he still clung to Brontë, she finally came up with an idea. “Hay Alexander you said that you never actually got to meet Brontë right?” said Sara. “Yes that’s right ma’am” he responded. Sara continued, “Well how would picture Brontë knowing what you do about him?” This question made him stop and think for a minute. “Well from what Azura and Setsuna have told me, I would have to describe him as Honorable and strong. Like a Knight. Why?” he said “What would you say to me working with those two there *pointing to Azura and Setsuna* and taking what remains of Brontë’s building it into a New device? We can even try to give him the same voice and make him true to the Brontë that you know in your heart?” “Can you do that?! He apparently was an Old-Belka device.” He asked. “Well with your cooperation their help I should be able to.” Sara said. At this he began to sob. “Thank You! Yes I would like that very much.” Sara and the two girls began working right away on designing a new deceive for <MC>. The other reason that Sara had wanted the Twins to stay and help her was that they would know their master better than anyone; his magic power levels, his magic style, what his fighting style is, and what form of device would be best suited to him.
Over a month and a half had passed and Alexander was beginning to wonder if Sara had forgotten about him and given up on his new device. Then all of a sudden Azura came flying out from the building behind him looking as happy as he had ever seen her. She came right over and sat on his shoulder, saying “Meister some quickly you are needed in the mechanics shop.” Upon hearing this he ran to the mechanic building only to find Sara and Setsuna standing outside in front of the door. What’s wrong what happened?” he asked quickly. “Wrong? Nothing wrong at all.” said Sara. Quickly followed by Setsuna comment of, “What did you tell Meister Alexander to make him think something was wrong Azura?” “Nothing she replied.” The Sara continued smiling “Well no matter. He’s done Alexander.” “Really” replied Alexander. At this Sara held out a chain necklace and on it he saw a small Sword that appeared to carry the symbol of Brontë’s shield. Shocked at what he was seeing Alexander found himself unable to speak. Sara spoke up saying “Well girls why don’t you take him to his new master so that they can finally meet.” “OK!!” “O there are a few more things I need to tell you about the device; one is that he is what is called a Change Device, meaning it can literally change his physical form to meet a need that you have, second thing is the most important thing though. He still needs a name. ^_^ The girls thought it would be good for you to name him yourself, instead of just giving him Brontë’s name.” “A name? Well let me think.... Ryu” “Ryu, hu that’s a nice name I am sure he will love it. Well now is as good a time as ever, why don’t you awaken him and meet your new device.” Alexander replied “No, not device, Partner!” *Sara smiles* Alexander began the release contract, “I, the one who accepts this mission, by the contract we make today, become the sword with which I can protect and the shield that is my defense, I call upon you now to fight with me as one, Ryu, SET UP!!” “Contract Confirmed, Name Accepted, Stand by ready, Set Up.
