My length of time varies especially whether it's in color, Black/white, or if I just use a regular graphite pencil.
Colored illustrations(if they contain something of a detailed background) can take up to a whole day - 5-8 hours (also my computer is slow LOL and I always start the image at 300-600 dpi which slows my crappy laptop even more
)
Colored images with no detailed background - usually around 2-3 hrs
Black and white digital images - Hmmm...roughly 1-2 hours (at least that's how long it took for this recent B/W of Sheryl.
Graphite or charcoal can take about 30-45 minutes.
Now this is if I have the actual "theme" or "idea" locked down. If not, it could take me awhile as I go through a myriad of concepts.
