Sorry for resurrecting an old thread, but I just watched the last episode of Petopeto-san this morning. Overall, I found it a nice, warm-hearted little romance (albiet with some deeper themes), except for one thing:

I don't know, I actually found the ending rather sad (which was a disappointment to me).

Why did Petoko still have to leave? I thought that she agreed to leave in the first place becuase she thought she was "trapping" Shingo, but after he confessed and she seemingly accepted his feelings, I just don't get why she still left him and all her friends. Even with the little epiloge after the credits, it just made me sad...
