This episode marked a major breakthrough for me in terms of plot progression.

Literally, Zessica's confession to Amata triggered the EVOL berserking with Mugen Punch to retrieve through time and space the memories from what happened 12,000 years ago in the first series.

And, you know how refreshing and cool was to watch Apollo, Sylvie, and Fudo I again even if were through flashbacks.

That last scene between Apollo and Sylvie when saying their good-byes for now that must likely be from the second OVA, though I'm not sure since I never got the chance to watch the second OVA.

So, who is who?

I'll agree with happily_everafter theory about Amata, since it is plausible with that theory to explain why Kagura couldn't smell him at all.
