I really dont think their the same person without Gido knowing that, the age difference (not to mention size), and what typically happens when you put second cells into someone else's body. Eye color is also different.
I do think they could have used Kasumi's cells which would make eve something of kasumi's daughter.

As for when this anime ends for a while, i also thought chapter 50 would be the perfect place, but if not that than i hope it ends with Cruz and Mio setting off (I would love to that animeted)
