I like the idea of anonymous fan-translations. It would mean that the translator was safe from legal repercussions. Lets not forget that fansubbing and scanlation are illegal, and that anyone who does either could get in trouble. It also protects you from having to deal with leechers. They don't know who you are, where to find you, or anything other than what you released.
Sounds like a plan to me. Unless you want recognition, which means you have to make a trade in return for that.
