It would have made sense if that was what they were building up to the entire series, but no, the make up their mind for the direction of the show in the LAST EPISODE. That confession came from freaking outer space and ruined any chance the show had of redeeming itself.
Oh, and Yuri, Otonashi, and Tenshi were all out of character for the last episode. How stupid.
