How was it sad? Noe was the only left alone and she was okay with it, to a degree. Although she liked him, she knew he liked Hiromi and accepted it. Everyone in school would call her names, but she was much more mature than most of them.
What's so unsatisfying? Do you have to see two characters get married and have kids for closure or something?
