Both got shafted really .You see ,Ai was there to teach a moral lesson .The writer wanted both her and Nobuse to feel less a bout themselves .He wanted Ai to try more just so he can screw her ...
If you focus more ,you wouid noticed that she made the most mistakes in this show ..
Sephiroth_760 has a point a bout Ai though -It felt more like a Nobuse ending and not hers and the drama CD proves that Ai still feels guilty ..
