I can't hate on Kanda only cuz I've literally been in his position (and still am). Lost two game design competitions in highschool (embarrassingly badly) and almost got in the top 50 games in a category at Ludum Dare 25 but only in Theme (then again, I thought it was awesome just breaking the top 100 of a category)
