I was actually rewatching the series with a friend and he pointed something out that I'd missed on the first watching. It isn't until Mutikapa dies, that we first see Mukuru and the story line refers to the tiger as a servant of the gods. My friend suggested their could only be one at a time...that's why there isn't a second tiger mate for Mutikapa or anything and why Mukuru isn't around. It's like almost as if he is a phoenix and reborn after death.
Anyone, that knows more about the canon than I, able to confirm or deny such speculation?
