Even if Lelouch WAS alive at the end of CGR2 (which it is confirmed he is not), there is no way he would be able to pull off going back to Ashford Academy after all that. Since he is in his school uniform, this is clearly not set after R2. Then take that into all the "new birth" talk, and.... I am pretty sure this is either a remake or an Alternate Universe or something.
