I think Kio is still supposed to be the focus to be honest. Even on the promo image for the arc he's the one in the centre, and he's the one with the FX. I really like Asemu and all, but I honestly can't see him playing much of a role in the future in terms of focus, besides being there to support Kio morally or something.
