Actually, you could be closer to your sibling, but you could also be further apart. Anyone is
guaranteed to have half of their parent's DNA, but theoretically, a person can range from being 100% identical (identical twins) to not sharing DNA at all with a sibling (highly highly unlikely), though chances are that around half their DNA will be the same.
