Watched the film today along with my sister and her friends.

I'm very grateful that I was not the only one who thought the very last film (part two of Deathly Hallows) felt shallow, while the mainstream viewers found the film epic.

As some of you previously posted, Harry and Voldemort's final match was and felt soulless, though I did like the part....

When Voldemort went hunting after Harry once the latter revealed himself upon everyone that he was not dead.

Also, the other problem I found with the film was the portrayal of the Battle at Hogwarts. I thought and was expecting something from the level and caliber to Lord of the Rings - The Return of the King film's epic battle at Gondor.

But, the film just superficially delves on the skirmishes of the Battle of Hogwarts from an outsider point of view, and not from the point of view of other characters besides Harry and co. like, for example, Neville, Luna, the adult Weasleys, Professor McGonagall, and among others.

I do praise them that they kept in tone with two of the most anticipated scenes that I recalled from the book.

But Dumbledore's appearance to Harry....

at the King Cross's Station in limbo, as portrayed in the film, seemed and felt unfulfilling to me, at least.

I'm positively sure that this film needed more shooting time for about adding another thirty minutes, and less with Hollywood taking creative liberties with deviations from the book.

But, as a wholehearted fan and reader of the books, the film truly insulted my intelligence when....

... after the aftermath of Voldemort's final defeat, Harry snaps the Elder Wand and tosses the pieces away into oblivion.

In the book, Harry uses the Elder Wand just once to repair his broken, Holly wand, because he felt the connection with his one and only personal wand.

And left the Elder Wand back at Dumbledore's tomb to have it secured forever, because the book states that if the true Master of the Elder Wand dies a natural dead without having been defeated then the power of the wand itself will vanish.

At the start of the fim, they did touch upon the connections that wands share with the wielders, but as the film carried on that premise was quickly dropped and vanished; would have made sense had the writers and producers made Harry use only once the Elder Wand to repair his damaged wand in the previous film, and then having the Elder Wand destroyed for good.
