So Hina made the decision - to help him over to be loved by him. I mean, just look at her game face. Reminder: Hayate _must_ win this match, and Hina still believes that Hayate needs to consider her delicate and frail in order to love her. Gilbert will be in for some bad *sswhooping next chapter.
Not that she needed any more brownie points with me, but this sits sooo well with me. And it is SO Hina, it captures the essence of her personality. It reminds me of her climbing up to the platform to make Ayumu win the tickets to the Aegean with Hayate. She's one of very few characters who are credibly and genuinely altruistic.
Now, I would love to eventually see all the help which Hina gives to other people rewarded in the end. This can't be too much to hope for, can it?
This development has one more advantage: It makes sure that Hina stays true to herself. What's the point in winning Hayate by changing yourself into something you're not? Hina is NOT frail. But dangit, SO WHAT? She's lovely the way she is and doesn't NEED to change.
Hayate, just open your eyes
