Well, are you SURE Gaara's name="I Love Death"?
Well,i read Chinese.Chinese characters,as many know, are very similar to Kanji, both in meaning and the "shape" of the characters.
From what i read, the letter on his forehead means,"love".He got his name from his mother, whom sacrificed herself unwillingly(?).(Correct me if im wrong about his mother dying unwillingly
)Thus,to let the other Sand know about her hate for the Village, she name her son Gaara.
Which translate into,a self-loving demon. She gave him this name also because she wanted her hate for the Sand to live on.(*She had this meaning in mind when she gave him that name=Let this child survive, and carry on my hatred for the Sand with him,or something along that line.*)
