As far as I'm concerned they really screwed up this episode. First off, the bell test was meant to be more orf a lighthearted fun exercise, at least that was the impression I got from the manga (yeah yeah, "come at me with intent to kill" whatever, it didn't feel that way at all), so why all the dramatic music? But if they didn't use dramatic music like that, there would've been too much contrast between the two scenes that they kept switching between. Which brings me to the other point, WHY THE HELL DID THEY HAVE TO KEEP INTERUPTING THE FIGHT? I mean, I understand why they did it, and it makes sense since in the manga bell test one minute Naruto and Sakura are fine and dandy and the next panel they're all worn out, and later on in the day, so it makes sense. But dammit, it doesn't make for a good fight!
Well, at least they made Deidara more manly looking in the anime.
