Exactly. And in this current arc, we've seen that Erza's been a big sis to more than just Natsu and Gray, so the fact that she's especially concerned for Natsu indicates that he's someone very special to her. Otherwise Mashima wouldn't have bothered drawing such interactions.
Although I still think Natsu x Lucy is inevitable, having Erza in the mix will make for some fun chapters.

only after she heard that Natsu and Gray were already there? lol Not that I was complaining when she did, my jaw hit the floor too...
She even gave a small blush while thanking him for trying to 'rescue' her from the council trial. lol
Natsu's protecting her (the elder sister) with all the firey ambition of a younger baby brother. And if you've ever dated a girl with a younger brother, you know what I mean - sometimes they are more of an obstacle than even her father.
We know that Gerald was her first crush/love...and she was ready to die with him so it's not like Natsu is on that level with him in her heart. All this time, she's been chained to the past but as it stands, it seems that Natsu is the one to break those chains on her (fingers crossed).
