Well duh. As stated in the intro, this thread is discuss
theories, and while Tobi calling himself Madara is a fact, there are plenty of indiscrepancies that point to something going on. Whether that means Tobi is Madara is always possible, but there is more than enough loose ends for Kishimoto to wow us when "who's behind the mask" is finally revealed.
Consequently, this thread will act as a way of exploring the several popular theories (not including Danzou, since he is now confirmed dead...or is he?
), without going over the same theories in the various weekly chapter threads (or do you not recall the multiple Obito=Madara discussions that occur nearly every time Madara is in a chapter?).

That's a fairly silly comparison. Naruto, as the main character, had/has certain mysteries, but he was never literally hidden from view, nor has he ever acted like anyone but himself. The closest comparable topics would be the now defunct "Did Itachi really kill his clan because he is evil?" threads, since those were theories based on unknown information, save for what the "villain" in question says happened.
