This was the sense I got from idolmaster as early as by the end of the 1st episode, which was marked by a dissipation of focus that it was hard to even recall who was who. This may serve well for the fans of the game, who would be thrilled to have all their favorite girls touched on, but if your first couple of eps feel so dispersed they only elicit a feeling of 'meh' in newcomers to the series, its not going to help win any new adherents, without which the numbers to affect things in a saimoe contest on the breadth of ISML as it stands now would be quite impossible.
