Commentary: Man, what is with some high-brow "traditionalist" critics/pundits who feel that this girl band is a threat to Japanese culture? Probably in the same way those closed-minded people back then looked at, say, NKOTB or Spice Girls, and conclude that it's "commercialized trash" a threat to Western culture.
