Erm.. Nagi doesn't have to lose, it's not even close to implied that she does, to curse Luca like she does in the flash forward. Nagi and Luca could have teamed up and won, just in an unexpected way, to cause such a reaction.
I'm willing to wait and see how things are going to play out, even if it does mean more filler chapters.
